Knott's Berry Farm Fires Back at Disney with Bloody New Haunted Maze

Knott's Berry Farm is taking aim at its competitor Disney once again, this time with its new haunted maze 'Inked' as part of its Knott's Scary Farm event. The maze tells the story of Mortimer Morbid, an animator whose studio failed in 1933 but whose creations come to life when he bleeds onto the page where he has been drawing a Mickey-like cat.

The concept is brilliant and takes a satirical approach, asking what if an artist poured their literal blood into their work and it literally took on a life of its own. Walt Disney certainly invested everything in his work, from his first Oswald cartoons with Ub Iwerks to building Disneyland with his brother Roy.

Knott's is not the only theme park to take shots at Disney; Universal Studios Hollywood also satirizes the amusement industry, particularly Disneyland, in its The Simpsons Ride. This year, Universal will feature The Simpsons' 'Treehouse of Horror' during Halloween Horror Nights, including themed food on sale.
