Knott's Berry Farm Takes Aim at Disney with New Haunted Maze
Knott's Berry Farm has unveiled its new haunted mazes for this year's Knott's Scary Farm, which starts on September 17. One of the mazes is called 'Inked,' and it tells the story of Mortimer Morbid, an animator whose work comes to life when he bleeds onto the page.
The maze takes a satirical approach to Disney, exploring the idea that an artist's passion can be so intense that their creations take on a life of their own. The park even introduced the maze with Silly Symphony-style dancing skeletons at its Nightmares Revealed event.
Knott's has been making subtle digs at Disney in recent years, and this latest move is seen as another example of the park's willingness to poke fun at its rival. Universal Studios Hollywood also takes aim at Disneyland with its own satirical offerings, including The Simpsons Ride and the upcoming 'Treehouse of Horror' show during Halloween Horror Nights.
