Knott's Scary Farm Tackles Disney in 'Inked' Haunted Maze
Knott's Berry Farm is taking on Disney once again with its new haunted maze 'Inked' for this year's Knott's Scary Farm event, which starts September 17. The maze tells the story of Mortimer Morbid, an animator whose work comes to life when he bleeds onto the page where he has been drawing a character resembling Mickey Mouse.
The concept is brilliant and not meant as a hate-filled insult, but rather satire that takes a truth and runs with it in an absurd direction. The idea behind 'Inked' is what if an artist poured their literal blood into their work, and that work literally took on a life of its own, destroying anything that stood in its way?
Knott's is not the only theme park to take shots at Disney, as Universal Studios Hollywood has also satirized the amusement park industry with its 'The Simpsons Ride' and will be featuring 'Treehouse of Horror' during its Halloween Horror Nights event.
