Knott's Takes Aim at Disney with Haunted Maze Satire

Knott's Berry Farm has taken aim at Disney once again with its new haunted maze for this year's Knott's Scary Farm, which starts on September 17. The maze, called 'Inked,' tells the story of Mortimer Morbid, an animator whose work comes to life when he bleeds onto the page.

The concept is described as brilliant and not a hateful insult by fans who attended Knott's Nightmares Revealed event last week. The idea takes a truth and runs with it in an absurd direction, exploring what if an artist poured their literal blood into their work, and that work took on a life of its own.

This is not the first time Knott's has taken shots at Disney. Universal Studios Hollywood also satirizes the amusement park industry, targeting Disneyland specifically in its 'The Simpsons Ride.' This year, Universal will feature 'The Simpsons' 'Treehouse of Horror' during its Halloween Horror Nights, with themed food on sale.

Knott's and Universal might throw shade at Disney, but it only highlights that they live in the shadow of the powerful entertainment company. Knott's Scary Farm starts on September 17, and fans are excited for this year's event, particularly with the new 'Inked' maze and the partnership with Magic Castle on the Bird Cage Theatre show.
