Koepka Joins McIlroy and Rahm for Amgen Irish Open
Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka has joined the star-studded field for the $6 million DPWT event, the Amgen Irish Open. He will be competing alongside defending champion Rory McIlroy and two-time major winner Jon Rahm at the Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg from 9-13 September.
Koepka has had a frustrating season so far, missing five cuts and failing to challenge for a major title. He rejoined the PGA Tour in January after leaving LIV Golf via a returning member programme. In a recent interview, Koepka expressed his disappointment with his performance, saying 'I think it's pretty pathetic that I can't get through'.
He has struggled with his putting this season, stating 'It's just all on the greens... I don't know what the deal is.' Koepka will be looking to turn things around at the Amgen Irish Open and regain his confidence.
The field also includes other notable players such as Patrick Reed, who is looking to strengthen his lead in the Race to Dubai standings. American President Donald Trump is expected to attend the event as part of his visit to Ireland.
