Kubkowski Breaks Record Swimming Across Baltic Sea

Bartłomiej 'Foka' Kubkowski has achieved an incredible feat by swimming across the Baltic Sea for the fifth time, breaking the record in the process. On Sunday, he swam 160 km in 55 hours and came ashore at Dziwnów beach in Poland, a condition for completing the challenge. This attempt was particularly grueling, with Kubkowski facing high waves, low water temperatures as low as 16 degrees Celsius, and hallucinations.

Kubkowski's support team reported that he began to experience hallucinations during the final stretch, but he quickly informed them for intervention. The team also threw a bottle of Coca-Cola into the sea, which Kubkowski spotted and asked if he could drink it. He was 'over the moon' when given permission.

Kubkowski's achievement has helped raise nearly 850,000 zlotys (€197,421) for the Cancer Fighters Foundation to fight against cancer, with the fundraising campaign still ongoing. The record-breaker underwent brutal training sessions before setting off on his fifth expedition, which included grueling workouts that sometimes lasted a day and a half.
