The Kyoto University Amgen Scholars Program concluded on August 6th, after an approximately two-month internship for undergraduate science students from July 5th to August 6th. The program, supported by the Amgen Foundation in the United States, aimed to foster next-generation innovators in biotechnology and advance science education.

This year's participants were 15 undergraduate students from 11 universities across seven Asian regions, selected through a competitive screening process from over 1,200 applicants. They engaged in hands-on research in host laboratories aligned with their areas of interest at Kyoto University.

The scholars also attended Japanese language classes and visited the Uji Campus and iCeMS, participating in cultural activities such as preparing matcha and making wagashi. These experiences helped deepen their connections with each other and with the broader KyotoU community.
