L Catterton Sells Wellness Brand Thorne to Procter & Gamble for $3.8 Billion
L Catterton, the private equity firm backed by luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, has sold wellness brand Thorne to Procter & Gamble (P&G) in a $3.8 billion cash deal.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, more than three years after L Catterton's initial investment in Thorne in 2023.
L Catterton claimed that its funding helped accelerate Thorne's growth by expanding the brand's reach through enhanced marketing and commercial capabilities, as well as supporting investments in science, research and development, and building technology and data infrastructure.
Thorne, a US-founded supplement company founded in 1984, sells products like magnesium, omega-3, and creatine primarily in the US market. The company's CEO, Colin Watts, praised L Catterton as an outstanding partner during their time together.
