La Plata Woman Accused of Stealing Knives from Waldorf Home Depot
Sara Cristina Rodriguez Quintanilla, 47, of La Plata, Maryland was charged with theft after allegedly stealing seven Husky folding knives worth $134.79 from a Home Depot in Waldorf on July 29.
According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, an asset protection specialist at the store reported that Quintanilla entered the business and asked an employee to use the restroom, where she had brought a flat brown purse.
The specialist claimed that after leaving the restroom, Quintanilla went to aisle 13 in the hardware section and took three knives from a display, placing them under her purse in a shopping cart. She then took four additional knives and placed them next to the purse.
Quintanilla allegedly concealed the knives inside her purse before walking around the store looking for a missing cellphone. The specialist confronted her on the sidewalk outside the store after she left without going through the checkout area.
