LaGrange Resident Bob Laffey Passes Away at Age 86
A long-time resident of La Grange, Texas, Bob Laffey passed away on September 8, 2026. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 18, 1939, Laffey spent his formative years in Evanston, Illinois.
After graduating from high school in 1957, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for three years in strategic missile systems.
Laffey later worked for Boeing in Seattle, Washington, before joining IBM, where he spent nearly 30 years. During his time at IBM, he met and married Glenna Irene Moore on August 11, 1963.
The couple relocated to Riverside, California, and Laffey earned a college degree from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona. In 1978, they moved to La Grange with Laffey's new assignment at IBM in Austin.
