Latham & Watkins, a major law firm, has made a significant infrastructure investment by purchasing Nvidia GPU servers to build its in-house artificial intelligence systems.

The move gives the firm greater control over sensitive client data while reducing its dependence on external AI and cloud providers.

Latham is currently fine-tuning Nvidia's Nemotron 3 open-weight models for its requirements, allowing it to process sensitive information without sending it to an external cloud provider.

The firm leases space in a secure data center facility where its GPU infrastructure is housed, giving it direct control over its computing infrastructure and the ability to tailor AI systems to its specific legal workflows.
