Lea Salonga Breaks Barriers with Historic Hollywood Star
Lea Salonga made history by becoming the first Filipina to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actress and singer was recognized for her groundbreaking career in entertainment, which has spanned Broadway, music, and film.
Salonga won the Tony Award for best actress in a musical in 1991 for Miss Saigon and has since starred in several Broadway productions and released numerous albums. She is also known as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Disney's Aladdin.
At the ceremony, Salonga reflected on her journey and expressed gratitude to those who helped her throughout her career. 'What an extraordinary journey this has been,' she said.
