Lea Salonga's Star Shines Bright on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Lea Salonga, the renowned singer who lent her voice to Disney princesses Jasmine and Mulan, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The ceremony took place on Friday, marking Salonga's achievement as the 2,855th star on the iconic boulevard. Guest speakers at the event included Cinderella actress Brandy, who praised Salonga for her incredible talent and impact on children around the world.

'She left the doorway open,' Brandy said in her speech, emphasizing how Salonga's voice transcended mere singing notes to touch hearts and souls. The singer's powerful voice was heard in two beloved Disney films, Aladdin and Mulan, making her a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.

Salonga, who became the first Asian woman to win a Tony Award in 1991 with Miss Saigon, humbly accepted the honor, describing it as 'surreal.' She expressed hope that her story would inspire young Filipino kids to pursue their dreams and reach for stardom, just as she did.
