LEAP Engine Deliveries Surge, Boosting Aerospace Industry

GE Aerospace's joint venture with Safran, CFM International, has seen a significant increase in LEAP engine deliveries. The company delivered 41% more engines in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.

This growth is crucial for Boeing and Airbus as they rely on these engines to power their aircraft. The two manufacturers have multi-year backlogs for their most important jets, with Boeing having a backlog of 4,381 orders for the 737 MAX and Airbus having a backlog of around 7,500 A320s.

CFM International's ability to deliver more engines is essential for Boeing and Airbus to further ramp up their production rates and clear their backlogs. This, in turn, will help them maintain relationships with airlines, who are eager to switch to newer, fuel-efficient aircraft.
