Lenovo's Retro-Futuristic ThinkPad Celebrates 25 Years

Lenovo's ThinkPad is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style. The company has released a special edition laptop that takes a trip down memory lane to 1992, when floppy disks were all the rage and Windows 3.1 was the latest operating system on the market.

The ThinkPad 25 comes with some of the older features that fans loved from back in the day, including the classic seven-row keyboard, which most modern laptops have abandoned. The laptop also sports a multi-colored logo, a throwback to the IBM ThinkPads of yesteryear.

But what's really interesting is that Lenovo listened to its fans' requests and incorporated some of their favorite features into this special edition laptop. According to Kevin Beck, one of Lenovo's ThinkPad ambassadors, 13,000 people responded to a survey asking for their input on the next model.

The ThinkPad 25 is not just a nostalgic throwback, though - it also packs some serious specs. With a 7th-generation Kaby Lake i7-7500U processor and 16GB of RAM, this laptop is far from ancient technology. And at $1899, it's actually relatively affordable compared to the original ThinkPad, which cost a staggering $7,589 in today's money.
