Leo Boards Supermax with Smith Amid Prison Thriller's Australian Shoot
A new cast member has joined the growing ensemble of Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax's action-thriller 'Supermax', which is currently in production in New South Wales, Australia. Oscar and Emmy winner Melissa Leo has been added to the cast alongside Will Smith, who will star as one of two FBI agents investigating a seemingly impossible murder within the impenetrable walls of a maximum-security prison.
The film's ensemble cast also includes AnnaSophia Robb, Jason Clarke, and Jaafar Jackson. David Gordon Green directs from a script by David Weil and David J. Rosen, who will serve as executive producers alongside Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman and others.
Leo's role in 'Supermax' remains under wraps, but her addition to the cast comes after Amazon MGM acquired the worldwide rights to the movie from Miramax for $70 million in May. The film is set to be released on Prime Video.
