LES, Google Partner on Solar Deal to Support Lincoln Data Center
Lincoln Electric System (LES) and Google have reached an agreement to bring up to 202 megawatts of solar energy into the Southwest Power Pool, which will support Google's data center north of Lincoln. The deal is part of Google's effort to tap into renewable energy sources for its operations.
The Panama Energy Center solar farm near Hallam will provide the necessary power. Google wants to use this clean energy source to meet a significant portion of its needs in the region.
No financial details were provided regarding the agreement, but it is expected that the partnership will bring economic benefits and create jobs for the local community.
