LG and Nvidia Unveil Next-Generation Humanoid Robot
LG Electronics Inc., in collaboration with Nvidia Corp., is set to unveil a next-generation humanoid robot capable of bipedal walking by the first quarter of 2027. The robot will be based on Nvidia's robotics platform and equipped with Nvidia's Jetson Thor robotics chip module. LG plans to integrate technologies from its affiliates, including actuators from LG Electronics, sensors from LG Innotek Co., and batteries from LG Energy Solution Ltd.
The partnership between the two companies will also focus on three key areas: robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) factories, and mobility. This collaboration marks a significant step towards LG's vision of consolidating key capabilities needed to commercialize robotics in the emerging physical AI industry.
