Haotong Li's chances of winning the Amgen Irish Open at Trump International Doonbeg took a hit when he was assessed a one-stroke penalty during the third round.

The incident occurred on the par-5 10th, where Li hit his second shot into a stream that runs through the fairway. He consulted with rules officials and then played from the stream, but it ultimately led to a bogey and a score of two-over-par 72 for the day.

Before the penalty, Li was tied for third on 10 under, three back of leader Jacob Skov Olesen. However, after the one-stroke penalty, he went on to make three more bogeys - and no birdies - which dropped him to a tie for sixth and 10 shots behind Shane Lowry.
