Liberia Jury Awards $13M in Damages to Former Coca-Cola Employees
A Liberian jury awarded $13 million in damages to four former employees of the Liberia Coca-Cola Bottling Company (LCCBC) after a 16-year-long legal battle.
The case originated from criminal proceedings initiated against the employees in 2010 and subsequently evolved into a civil action focused on corporate accountability and personal injury.
Counsel for the plaintiffs argued that LCCBC's initiation of criminal proceedings subjected them to prolonged public stigma, severely damaging their reputations and professional opportunities.
