Libra Energy Materials Secures Key Lithium Projects in Quebec
PowerStone Metals Corp., which operates under the brand Libra Energy Materials Inc., has made significant strides in securing lithium projects in Quebec's James Bay region. The company has signed an option agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the Cisco West and Obamska lithium projects, positioning it alongside Q2 Metals' Cisco deposit.
The Cisco West property is contiguous to and partly surrounds the Cisco deposit, giving Libra control over about 45 kilometers of the Nottaway Deformation Zone. Both properties host large outcropping pegmatites with geochemical signatures indicative of highly fractionated LCT systems, yet have seen minimal prior lithium exploration.
Libra plans near-term field programs supported by highway and rail infrastructure, while continuing to divest or partner non-core Canadian and Brazilian assets. This move aims to enhance its position in the emerging James Bay lithium district.
