LifeGift's HopeFest Raises Awareness for Organ Donation in West Texas
LifeGift is hosting its second annual HopeFest event on Saturday, August 8 from 10am to 3pm at the Texas Tech University Recreational Softball Fields. The free family-friendly event aims to raise awareness about organ donation and celebrate life.
The festival will feature a softball showdown between Covenant Health and University Medical Center and four other teams, with awards for Best Team Name, Best Uniform, and the Championship Trophy. Attendees can also participate in activities such as face painting, crafts, and music featuring DJ with TJ.
Complimentary lunch will be provided, including ballpark favorites like burgers, hot dogs, walking tacos, and Frito pies. The first 500 attendees will receive a free HopeFest T-shirt. Additionally, there will be a raffle for an autographed football donated by Coca-Cola and signed by Joey McGuire.
Kevin Myer, LifeGift President and CEO, stated that the event offers hope to those waiting for life-saving transplants in West Texas. The overwhelming support from the community shows how deeply they care about raising awareness and saving lives through donation.
