Lightwell Expands to Universities and NGOs with Free Security Fixes
IBM and Red Hat are expanding access to their Lightwell platform, which provides free validated fixes for open source software vulnerabilities. The program is available to over 185 leading research universities and 100 major NGOs and think tanks in the US.
The initiative combines automated remediation with human engineering expertise to identify, validate and remediate vulnerabilities across critical software dependencies.
Eligible institutions will receive access to Lightwell's library of validated fixes, including digitally signed binaries, source code and compliance artifacts. The program does not require IBM or Red Hat to access an institution's proprietary code or data.
