Live Nation Sees Years of Growth Ahead in Global Live Music Market
Live Nation's President and Chief Financial Officer Joe Berchtold spoke at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026, presenting a positive outlook for the company's growth prospects. With $39.6 billion in revenue over the last twelve months, Live Nation is considered undervalued by InvestingPro, suggesting potential upside for investors.
The live entertainment market, according to Berchtold, remains in its 'early innings,' with most growth still coming from outside the U.S. The company aims to reach 225 million fans globally over the long term, up from a current target of 175 million by 2024. To achieve this goal, Live Nation is focusing on international expansion, stronger venue economics, and new ways to monetize fans.
Berchtold highlighted Ticketmaster's mid-teens year-over-year AOI growth in the second quarter and year-to-date as a key driver of the company's success. He also mentioned the growing importance of sponsorship and platform advertising, which are expected to contribute to future upside areas. The CEO emphasized that demand remains strong across regions and venue types, with no clear sign of consumer slowdown.
Live Nation has seen significant growth in international markets, with 70% of its fan count increase over the past decade coming from outside the U.S. The company now operates 25 arenas globally, up from five a decade ago. Berchtold pointed to Bad Bunny as an example of the new global touring model, citing fast growth in K-pop and Latin music.
