Longtime FX Executive Chuck Saftler Departs Disney After 32 Years
Chuck Saftler, a longtime TV executive, is leaving Disney and FX after nearly 33 years. He joined FX in December 1993, just before its launch, and helped transform the network into a powerhouse. During his tenure, he held various leadership roles, including president of programming strategy and chief operating officer. In recent years, Saftler oversaw acquisitions for ABC, Freeform, FX, and Nat Geo.
Saftler's departure is effective October 16, with Sean Cocchia taking over network acquisitions after a transition period. He will integrate the team into his broader Disney Entertainment Television programming strategy and business operations portfolio.
