López Leads Microsoft's Space, Mission & AI Expansion
Juan Carlos López has been promoted to Director of Space, Mission & AI at Microsoft. In this new role, he will expand his work beyond the space sector to a broader portfolio of U.S. federal government mission customers.
López's remit now includes Microsoft's Space, Mission & AI business across the U.S. Federal Government, where he will bring together cloud, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies for organizations working in space, science, and national missions.
This promotion marks a significant milestone in López's career, which began at NASA over six years ago. He spent nearly five years at Microsoft, with much of that work centered on space infrastructure and cloud services. Before the promotion, he served as Senior Program Manager for Azure Space, leading strategy across connectivity, data analytics, on-orbit computing, and AI.
