Lowry Dominates Home Field at Amgen Irish Open
Shane Lowry won his seventh DP World Tour title and second Amgen Irish Open victory, dominating the field by an 11-stroke margin at home in Dublin, Ireland.
The victory marked a comeback for Lowry, who had struggled this season with several close losses. 'This year has been quite difficult on the course for me,' he said. 'I've had a few chances to win and took some really tough times, but to come here and win is incredible.'
Lowry's performance included a course-record 8-under-par 62 in the second round, which propelled him into contention and never let up.
He maintained his four-shot lead throughout Sunday's final round before securing the most decisive victory on the DPWT this season. Lowry finished at 23-under-par.
