Lowry Edges Ahead with Dominant Four-Birdie Run

Shane Lowry maintained his dominance at the Amgen Irish Open on Saturday, posting a 5-under-par 65 to take a four-shot lead into the final round. The Irishman's impressive performance included making every putt on the back nine for par or birdie, leaving him at 16-under-par 194.

Lowry was thrilled with his day and acknowledged that it was an unusual feeling to be in this position himself, rather than watching others perform well. He attributed his success to seeing his lines clearly and starting the ball where he wanted it to go.

In contrast, defending champion Rory McIlroy struggled throughout the round, shooting a 74 and falling 18 shots behind at 2-over-par. McIlroy was disappointed with his performance, stating that he had no momentum early on and then faced tough conditions.

First-round leader Joaquin Niemann also shot 66 but found himself seven shots back at 9-under-par. Meanwhile, Jacob Skov Olesen of Denmark posted a 66 to take second place, four shots behind Lowry.
