Shane Lowry took a commanding four-shot lead into the final round of the Amgen Irish Open after an impressive performance on day three. The Irish golfer, who won this event as an amateur in 2009, wowed the crowds with six birdies and a single bogey in his third-round scorecard.

Lowry's playing partner Jacob Skov Olesen was his closest challenger at 12 under par after carding an eagle and three birdies on the front nine. However, Lowry caught fire on the back nine, combining birdie putts with clutch par saves to take control of the tournament.

The 39-year-old golfer credited his performance to staying focused on the moment and playing his own game. He also praised the enthusiastic crowds at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg, Ireland, saying they made his back-nine run 'a lot of fun'.
