Lowry Shatters Course Record for Dominant Irish Open Victory
Shane Lowry delivered a dominating performance at the Amgen Irish Open, securing his seventh career title and second Irish Open victory. The 39-year-old shot a seven-under-par 63 on Sunday to finish an incredible 23 under par.
This marks Lowry's largest margin of victory in a tour event, eclipsing his previous record by four strokes. He took advantage of a strong performance from the home crowd and made several key birdie putts throughout the round.
Lowry's closest challengers, Jacob Skov Olesen and Patrick Reed, were unable to keep pace with the Irishman's blistering pace. Reed shot a 64, while Olesen slipped back with a three-over-par 73.
