Lowry Takes Commanding Lead in Amgen Irish Open
The Amgen Irish Open, part of the DP World Tour, has reached its third round in Ireland. Despite a slow week for Rory McIlroy, he managed to post some notable highlights on the 6th hole, where he was at level par after bogeying the 5th.
McIlroy's drive landed in native area, forcing him to take a drop and hit his third shot into the bunker. He ultimately made a double bogey, ending with a four-over-par 74 for the day.
In contrast, Jacob Skovinsen has been thriving, sitting at 10 under par after putting for eagle on the 8th hole. This move tied him with Shane Lowry, who had held the solo overnight lead. Lowry continued to impress, making birdie on the 12th and extending his lead to three shots.
Joaquin Niemann is now in third place, jumping up to nine under par after a long birdie putt on the 16th. Meanwhile, Lowry maintained his position at 15 under par through 18 holes, despite challenging conditions.
