Lupin Brings Affordable Generic Medication to US Market with Sugammadex Launch
Pharmaceutical major Lupin has launched its generic version of Sugammadex injection in the US market. This move comes after receiving approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its abbreviated new drug application. The new generic medication is aimed at reversing muscle relaxants used during surgery, specifically rocuronium bromide and vecuronium bromide. Lupin's Sugammadex injection is bioequivalent to Merck's Bridion injection.
The newly launched medication is available in two strengths: 200 mg/2 mL and 500 mg/5 mL single-dose vials. It is indicated for the reversal of neuromuscular blockade induced by rocuronium bromide and vecuronium bromide in adults and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older undergoing surgery.
This development marks a significant milestone for Lupin, expanding its presence in the US market with a new generic medication. The company's commitment to providing affordable healthcare solutions is reflected in this launch.
