Lupin Brings Generic Neuromuscular Blocker to US Market

Lupin Limited has expanded its portfolio of complex generic and specialty injectable medicines in the US market. The company has launched Sugammadex Injection, a bioequivalent version of Merck's Bridion Injection, after receiving approval from the USFDA for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA).

The product is available in 200 mg/2 mL and 500 mg/5 mL single-dose vial presentations. It is indicated for the reversal of neuromuscular blockade induced by rocuronium bromide and vecuronium bromide in adults and pediatric patients aged two years and older undergoing surgery.

Sugammadex Injection rapidly reverses the effects of neuromuscular blocking agents, helping patients regain muscle function after anesthesia. This launch further strengthens Lupin's injectable portfolio in the US and expands its offerings in the hospital and acute care segment.
