Lupin Limited has expanded its presence in the US market by launching its generic Sugammadex Injection. The company received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for this product, which serves as a bioequivalent alternative to Merck's Bridion.

The Sugammadex Injection will be available in 200 mg/2 mL and 500 mg/5 mL single-dose vials. This launch marks Lupin's ongoing strategy to increase its footprint in the complex generics and specialty drug space, a key driver of its international revenue.

As a high-value product in the hospital-based segment, Sugammadex will help the company diversify its US product mix beyond traditional oral solid dosages. However, investors should monitor how quickly Lupin can ramp up distribution to hospitals and surgical centers to capture market share from the existing reference drug.
