Luxair Unveils New Boeing 737-8 Fleet Amid Concerns Over Micro-Fissures

Luxair, the Luxembourg-based airline, has taken delivery of its first two new Boeing 737-8 aircraft as part of its fleet renewal programme.

The Billion Euro investment will spread over 10 to 20 years and includes nine Embraer and twelve Boeing aircraft with an option for two additional planes.

Luxair CEO Gilles Feith expressed his pride in the new fleet, stating that 'by the mid-2030s, none of the aircraft still in service yesterday will be part of our fleet'.

The new 737-8 can accommodate 186 passengers and offers improved comfort with larger windows, increased overhead compartment capacity, and customizable LED cabin lighting.

However, despite potential cost savings, Luxair's airfares may not decrease due to rising staff costs. The airline is also addressing concerns over micro-fissures in the Boeing 737 Max aircraft, with Feith stating 'I'd never heard of it!' when questioned about the issue.
