A 23-year-old man was arrested on July 31, 2026, in connection with a string of thefts at four Macon businesses. Kenyon Malik Clayton was taken into custody after fleeing on foot when approached by deputies near Bloomfield Road and Eisenhower Parkway.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office (BSO), investigators were able to connect Clayton to a burglary at Northern Tool and Equipment store on Ivey Drive and shoplifting incidents at Kroger, Hibbett Sports, and Home Depot at Eisenhower Crossing. BSO says they could not confirm that the theft from the Home Depot in June was part of the string of thefts.

Clayton was charged with two counts of felony theft by shoplifting, one misdemeanor count of theft by shoplifting, and one count of burglary in the second degree. He is currently being held without bond as the investigation remains ongoing with more charges pending.
