Magic Kingdom's Iconic Railroad Closes for Month-Long Refurbishment
The iconic Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom will be closing for about a month starting September 28th. The train's Fantasyland and Main Street, U.S.A. stations will shut down during this time due to ongoing construction in the park.
This closure is part of an extensive refurbishment project that has been underway since July 7th, 2025, when work on Villains Land and Piston Peak began. The train's temporary shutdown allows Disney to complete the construction without giving away its secrets to guests who might take a ride through the area.
Guests can still get an idea of the progress being made by taking Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or Tiana's Bayou Adventure, which offer views of the construction site. The Fantasyland Station will continue to serve as a trick-or-treat spot during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
