Malaysian Hotel Transforms Boeing 747s into Luxury Suites

The Malaysian hotel 1975 Avenue & Hotel in Johor Bahru has converted two retired Boeing 747s into luxury suites, offering a unique experience for guests. The aircraft, a former Pan Am and JAL plane, have been on the hotel site since at least 2022.

The Pan Am aircraft was delivered to the airline in 1970 and flew briefly for American Airlines before being converted into a freighter in 1992. It later operated for Tower Air and Logistics Air before ending up in Malaysia. The JAL aircraft, which entered service in 1980, flew until 1998.

The suites are inspired by countries across the globe and offer different categories of accommodation, including Premium, Business, Captain, and Signature. Guests can access their rooms via a jet bridge connected to the main hotel building. The preserved and refurbished cockpit is also accessible.
