Malaysia's 1975 Avenue Hotel Unveils Converted Jumbo Jets as Luxury Suites

Two retired Boeing 747s have been transformed into luxury hotel suites in Malaysia. The aircraft, named Bove and Bey, were originally designed to carry 500 passengers each but now offer nine tasteful luxury suites with sculptural bathtubs, a cockpit lounge, and rooftop pools.

The former Pan Am and Japan Airlines planes are located at the 1975 Avenue & Hotel in Johor Bahru. The conversion involved dismantling the aircraft, reassembling the airframe, and rebuilding the interiors with modern hotel technology.

The suites range from about $400 to $660 per night, depending on the category. Guests can choose from four categories: Premium, Business, Captain, and Signature, with some suites accommodating up to three guests.
