Mallard Exits Microsoft AI Amid Consumer Marketing Overhaul
Microsoft AI's chief marketing officer, Andréa Mallard, is leaving her position after six months, according to an internal email obtained by Business Insider.
The memo stated that Mallard plans to relocate her family to Europe in August to be closer to her father, who was unwell. This will result in her stepping back from her role as CMO.
Microsoft confirmed the departure and said that Mallard will stay on until early next year as an advisor. The company praised her efforts in promoting a unified approach, including the single app experience for Copilot marketing.
Mallard's departure also reflects a recent change in strategy at Microsoft AI, which is rethinking its consumer marketing efforts. The company has merged its consumer and business Copilot apps into a single application and will consolidate marketing under Microsoft executive Jared Spataro.
