Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Power Tools from Palm Beach Gardens Home Depot
A 60-year-old man was arrested in Palm Beach Gardens on Thursday for allegedly stealing power tools from Home Depot earlier this year. Alexander Santiago-Carrion is accused of grand theft after deputies say he used a cutting tool to remove anti-theft devices from the power tools.
According to the arrest affidavit, surveillance footage showed Santiago-Carrion using the cutting tool and then concealing three Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hammer Drill Impact Kits in a cart with other merchandise. He distracted an employee while another man pushed the cart past all points of sale and exited the store without paying.
The items stolen ranged from drill kits to kitchen items and a ceiling fan, totaling $1,670.46. When confronted by police, Santiago-Carrion gave a false name and birth year.
