Man Charged After Officer-Involved Shooting Near Home Depot
A 46-year-old man has been charged after an officer-involved shooting in Benton Township, Michigan. Peter Pearson is facing five charges related to the incident, including three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assaulting, resisting, or obstructing a police officer.
Pearson was shot by officers during a confrontation near a Home Depot store on Friday morning. According to authorities, he first fired at a woman before pointing his gun at the officers and running into a wooded area.
Michigan State Police are investigating the incident, which left Pearson injured and in hospital. His bond has been set at $250,000.
