Man Charged Over Alleged Homophobic Abuse at Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leeds United Match
A man has been charged in connection with an alleged incident of homophobic abuse at a Premier League football match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United.
The incident is reported to have occurred during the fixture at the American Express Community Stadium in Falmer on September 5, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Alexander Bishop, 55, of Martlet Way, Brockworth, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, was arrested and later charged with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Bishop is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates' Court on December 3.
