Man Sets Himself on Fire at NYC Office Building Housing Google
A man was arrested for arson after setting himself on fire in the lobby of a Lower Manhattan office building that houses Google, according to the NYPD.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. Friday at 315 Hudson Street, near Vandam Street, when John Butch, 63, allegedly lit himself on fire with the help of a 'lighter accelerant.'
First responders rushed him to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he is receiving burn treatment and is listed in stable condition.
Butch has been charged with criminal mischief, arson, and reckless endangerment. He is not an NYPD employee.
