Marriott Hotel Rising from Sacramento's Historic Coca-Cola Bottling Plant
The former Coca-Cola bottling plant on Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento is being transformed into a Marriott hotel, with construction underway since July. The five-story, 146-room hotel will have a mix of traditional and extended-stay rooms, as well as connected common spaces.
The building was constructed in 1936 for approximately $27,500 and operated until its closure in 2013. Leeland Properties acquired the site in 2017 with plans to build a medical office building, but changed course after UC Davis announced its Aggie Square project across the boulevard.
UC Davis's expansion led Leeland Properties to realize there was a need for a hotel catering to visiting healthcare workers and families of patients at UC Davis Medical Center. The hotel will be built adjacent to the preserved historic facade, with public areas within the original two-story structure.
