Marvell Defies Qualcomm-Amazon Deal as CEO Calls It 'Neutral'
Marvell Technology's stock continued its upward trend on Tuesday, rising by 0.8% as CEO Matt Murphy downplayed the significance of a recent deal between Qualcomm and Amazon.
Murphy told CNBC that Marvell's unique position in the market, with relationships spanning every major U.S. hyperscaler, alongside Nvidia and other key AI players, puts it in a favorable position.
He described the company as 'the Switzerland of this entire market,' implying neutrality and impartiality in its dealings with various stakeholders.
The deal between Qualcomm and Amazon, which gives Amazon the right to acquire up to $4 billion in Qualcomm stock, was seen by some as a threat to Marvell's position. However, Murphy remained confident in his company's ability to compete.
Analysts are overwhelmingly bullish on MRVL, with 39 out of 44 rating it 'Buy' or higher and an average price target implying a 26% upside.
