Massive Marijuana Seizure in Northwest Indiana Traffic Stop
A massive traffic stop in Northwest Indiana led to the seizure of over 220 pounds of marijuana on Thursday.
The stop occurred at 7 a.m. on Interstate 90 in Porter County, where an officer from the Lake County Sheriff's Highway Interdiction Team pulled over a rental van for traffic violations.
The driver and passenger, both from San Leandro, California, claimed they were traveling to New York, but appeared unusually nervous during the stop.
A police dog signaled the presence of drugs inside the vehicle, leading officers to search the van. They found the marijuana packed in Home Depot moving boxes.
