McDonald's Axes UK Monopoly Game After Two Decades
McDonald's UK has confirmed that its popular Monopoly game promotion will not return in 2026, ending a 20-year run. The game was first introduced in the UK in 2005 and gave customers the chance to win prizes by collecting stickers from selected menu items.
The promotion became a staple of McDonald's calendar, with customers buying their favorite items and collecting stickers to complete property sets and win exciting prizes. Ranging from free food and drinks to expensive gadgets, holidays, and huge cash prizes, the rewards were extensive.
Last year's prizes included £100,000 in cash, a £2,000 Jet2 holiday, an LG OLED TV, and a Merlin Annual Pass for four. Customers could also win popular McDonald's menu items like Big Macs, Quarter Pounders, McFlurries, milkshakes, and apple pies.
A spokesperson for McDonald's stated that while Monopoly won't feature in 2026, the company will continue listening to customer feedback as it shapes future promotions. This decision comes amidst other significant changes to McDonald's UK menu, including the removal of the Fish Finger Happy Meal option.
