McDonald's Customers Reject Value Menu, Blame Rising Prices
McDonald's customers have spoken out about their discontent with the chain's pricing and value menu. In a survey conducted by Business Insider, 57% of respondents rated the value they received for their money as 'poor' or 'very poor.' Many customers mentioned that they had reduced their visits to McDonald's due to rising prices and a lack of perceived value.
Some customers, such as Steve Armstrong, a retiree from Louisiana, prefer other fast-food chains like Burger King because they feel it offers better quality food at a lower price. Christoph Winarski, who goes to McDonald's about once a week, has noticed menu prices rising over the past few years and is rethinking his habit.
McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski acknowledged that the company had trouble rolling out an under-$3 value menu during its second quarter, citing execution problems as the main issue. Mike Perry, founder of Tavern, suggested that McDonald's consider refocusing on meal deals, such as the $5 meal introduced in 2024, rather than trying to sell individual items at low prices.
