McDonald's Drive-Thru Nears Reality in Wrexham with Signage Approvals
A new McDonald's drive-thru is moving closer to reality in Wrexham after plans for signage at the proposed Tesco site were approved.
The approvals, granted by Wrexham Council on August 25, relate only to advertising signage and do not mean the proposed restaurant itself has been given the green light.
The plans include illuminated white 'McDonald's' lettering, an illuminated yellow Golden Arches logo, and signs for the proposed Collect and Pay booths. Two 7m-high freestanding totem signs featuring Golden Arches branding and illuminated 'Drive Thru' appendages have also been approved.
The signage approvals are subject to standard conditions, including requirements for the advertisements to be safely maintained and not create a hazard for road users. The council also warned that illumination from the signs could be treated as a statutory nuisance if it causes problems for nearby properties.
